How do the FreeStyle Libre 2 system alarms compare to competitor alarms (e.g. Dexcom)?

The FreeStyle Libre 2 system offers three optional alarms: Low Glucose, High Glucose and Signal Loss. These alarms are turned OFF by default, and the user has the option to turn them ON, if desired. Dexcom and other CGMs have several system alerts/alarms in addition to glucose alarms. Dexcom’s system has more components (sensor, transmitter, and display device) than the FreeStyle Libre 2 system (reader/app and sensor) and offers numerous additional alarms to ensure system calibration and connectivity among multiple components. Examples of these additional alerts are: sensor failed, replace sensor now, enter a new BG meter value, storage full, transmitter error, Dexcom app error, calibration error, and calibration alert. The default setting for the alerts/alarms in the Dexcom system is ON, and not all alerts/alarms in the Dexcom system can be turned OFF.
