To support patients who do not have a compatible smartphone, Abbott's diabetes care division is providing a solution by distributing the A5X device manufactured by NUU Mobile, which is compatible with the FreeStyle LibreLink Special Edition app. Patients can use the FreeStyle LibreLink Special Edition app instead of the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. 

To use this device, patients will need to download the FreeStyle LibreLink Special Edition onto their A5X device. You can direct your patients to the A5X page on our consumer site where they’ll find everything they need to get them set-up on the A5X device and the FreeStyle LibreLink Special Edition app.
