For patients without a compatible smartphone

Patients without a device that's compatible with the FreeStyle LibreLink app can use a FreeStyle Libre 2 reader to scan their FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor. They will benefit from all the features of the FreeStyle Libre 2 system but will not receive real-time glucose readings.

Prescribing guidance

For all adults with T1DM and selected adults with T2DM on MDI

NICE guidelines support the use of the FreeStyle Libre 2 system in all adults aged 18 and over with Type 1 diabetes9 and selected adults with Type 2 diabates who take insulin.10
