Can the FreeStyle Libre systems be used to make day-to-day therapy decisions for children and young people?

Yes. Children and young people can better understand the impact of their actions like food, exercise, and insulin on their glucose levels and make day-to-day therapy decisions (based on HCP recommendations) using the FreeStyle Libre systems*; however, children and young people between the ages of 4 -12 require the supervision of a caregiver who is at least 18 years of age. The caregiver is responsible for managing or assisting the child to manage the FreeStyle Libre system and for interpreting or assisting the child to interpret readings.

* FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 systems are part of the same family of products.
