Error Message: Scan time-out

This message means the reader or app and sensor could not communicate with each other.  This usually happens when the reader is not close enough to the sensor when your patients scan. 

Please ask your patient to:

  • Hold the reader or app against the sensor (for Apple phones, hold the top edge of the phone against the sensor; for Android phones, hold the back of the phone against the sensor)
  • Remove thick clothing
  • Move away from household appliances that emit electromagnetic waves (such as microwaves, Wi-Fi transmitters, baby monitors)

If your patient is still seeing the error after following these steps, the sensor will need to be replaced.
