Error Message: Scan Time-out

This message means the sensor and app could not communicate with each other. This usually happens when the device is not close enough to the sensor when you scan.

• Hold your reader or app against the sensor (for Apple phones, hold the top edge of the phone against the sensor; for Android phones, hold the back of the phone against the sensor)
• Remove thick clothing
• Move away from household appliances that emit electromagnetic waves (such as microwaves, Wi-Fi transmitters, baby monitors)

If you are still seeing the error after following these steps, the sensor will need to be replaced.
